Sweet Tom is a five-year-old male domestic longhair.

A spokeswoman for Southridge said: “Tom had been living as a stray and he was brought into the RSPCA so he could receive veterinary treatment.

“Tom is a nervous boy at the moment and it is thought that he may not have had much human contact in the past.”

He needs patient and understanding adult owners who will help his confidence to grow.

He will need access to the outdoors and would prefer to be the only cat in the household.

• Gorgeous George is a two-year-old male Shih Tzu crossbreed.

He is looking for a new home as his owner could no longer afford to keep him.

“He is a very sweet, lively boy who needs loving owners who will be patient with him and carry on his training,” said the RSPCA spokeswoman.

“He loves playing with his squeaky toys and having cuddles.”

George needs an adult only home and could possibly live with another dog depending on the introduction at the centre.

He can’t be rehomed with cats.

• Hope and Honey are looking for a home together.

The RSPCA spokeswoman said: “They are mother and baby, and both have a really nice nature.”

They will need to have spacious, secure accommodation, and be provided with access to the outside so they can enjoy grazing on grass.

• If you are interested in adopting any of the animals featured, visit the centre in Packhorse Lane, Ridge, Potters Bar, call 0300 123 0704 or email southridge@rspca.org.uk
