An urgent appeal has been launched by an animal centre near Potters Bar to find a missing cat who needs twice daily medication to control seizures.

May, a young, dark tortoiseshell who recently featured in the Welwyn Hatfield Times’ Potters Bar Edition, went missing from her new home in the London Colney area on Monday.

RSPCA Southridge officials are now asking residents to help find May by searching gardens, sheds and outbuildings.

Staff at the Packhorse Lane centre are growing concerned for May’s welfare, due to her medical condition.

They need to find her quickly as she requires medication twice a day to control seizures.

May is a quiet and timid cat with a very gentle nature.

A spokeswoman said: “We need to find her ASAP for her medication, and fireworks are starting to go off which may spook her.”

She added: “We would be very grateful for any help or information regarding her whereabouts.”
