STUDENTS at a WGC school were delighted to meet not one but two members of the Royal family.

At the finale of a six-month project called TheatreQuest, pupils from Sir Frederic Osborn School met the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Launched last July, TheatreQuest, part of the Prince's Foundation for Children and the Arts, has given 1,300 children around the UK the opportunity to engage with their local theatre.

Youngsters from the Herns Lane, WGC, school have been working in conjunction with the Barn Theatre and the Howard Centre studying a new play by Jamila Gavin called A Singer from the Desert Came.

They attended the TheatreQuest national finale in London where they met Charles and Camilla.

Fifteen students at the school attended the event but overall 150 had worked on the project.

Carol Reynolds, head of drama at Sir Frederic Osborn School, said: "It was a fantastic day and the children were really excited.

"Some of the children performed extracts from the play they have been working on, on stage for the prince and Camilla.

"A film was shown of the things children had been working on throughout the project.
