Police are seeking information after a “verbal altercation” at a U11 football game led to an alleged assault.

The row, which took place on Sunday, May 10, at the King George V playing field in Welwyn Garden City, broke out on the touchline between two men.

It left one man in his late 40s with a cut lip and scratches to the neck.

PC Matthew Vincenti said: “We understand that there were a number of people at the match on the day who may have witnessed what happened.

“If you saw the incident, or the events prior to it, please contact me as soon as possible.”

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact PC Vincenti on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference B1/15/1489.
