The rink has been constructed at the Hatfield outlet centre by Olympic champion and Dancing on Ice judge Robin Cousins.

Starting at 6pm, the glittering occasion will feature performances from a host of ice dancers, including British senior silver medallists and Olympic hopefuls, Pippa Tower-Green and Philip Poole.

The event is in aid of the St John's Youth Community Centre in Hatfield and will be opened by Robin cutting the ribbon alongside borough mayor Kim Langley and Miss Hertfordshire 2009, Suzy Cumming.
