Robbery at Welwyn Garden City golf range

A MASKED robber is being hunted by police after stealing cash from a WGC leisure complex.

The robbery took place at 9.20pm yesterday (Tuesday), at the golf range of Gosling Sports Park in Stanborough Road.

A man walked into the reception area and demanded staff hand over cash from the till and the safe and place it in a Tesco carrier bag.

The man then made off with the cash. There was no sign of a weapon and nobody was injured.

Detective Constable Scott Harvey said: “We’ll explore every avenue to trace the person responsible.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, particularly in the car park of the Gosling or the Beefeater. Did you see a man matching this description carrying a Tesco carrier bag leaving the area?”

The robber is described as a white man, around 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build and wearing black bottoms, a black hooded top with a logo on the left side and a balaclava.
