A Hatfield-based developer is inviting villagers in Knebworth to influence its plans for a new assisted living complex.

McCarthy and Stone, which has acquired rights to land in London Road, will exhibit its plans at Trinity Church in Park Lane on Tuesday, March 28.

Ali Maruf, regional managing director, said: “Our plans would provide a specialist form of housing that would help to meet an identified and growing need in the area.

“We have spent time carefully researching the local architecture to ensure that our proposal is in-keeping and sympathetic to its surroundings, but now we would like to hear the views of the local community.

“Members of our project team will be on hand at the public exhibition to answer questions and listen to feedback. The proposals are at a very early stage and where possible we will amend our plans to reflect people’s comments.”

The land is currently occupied by builders’ merchants Chas Lowe & Sons, which plans to move to Stevenage next month.

The exhibition will be open between 3.30pm and 7.30pm.
