A community lunch was held in Hatfield on Christmas Day with the help of local volunteers.

The Christmas lunch was held at Friendship House in Wellfield Close, and was aimed at anyone who for whatever reason would be spending Christmas alone.

Traditional Christmas dinners were served to 25 people, and Father Christmas visited and gave everyone a bag of food and gifts.

Councillor Lenny Brandon, who attended and organised the event, said: “The day was a resounding success made possible by a team of local volunteers, local businesses, individuals donating food and gifts and The Friendship House management team for allowing us the use of their venue.”
