BEREAVED families from Welwyn Hatfield came together to remember hundreds of loved ones.

Each year, the Isabel Hospice runs Lights of Love ceremonies across its catchment area.

And, on the last two Saturdays, people have gathered first at The Campus, WGC, then at the Galleria in Hatfield, to pay their respects.

At both events, a Christmas tree was blessed and the assembled crowds sang carols, before the tree was lit.

Books of Love containing dedications – 227 people in the book on show in Hatfield this weekend, and 700 remembered in the WGC book the previous Saturday – are now on display in the nearest hospice shop.

A spokeswoman for the WGC-based hospice said: “Our ceremonies provide great comfort to bereaved families.”
