Murder victim Angela Hoyt worked for the Red Cross, her colleagues have today paid tribute to her.

Geoff Loane, head of Mission at the International Committee of the Red Cross in London, said: “Angela had worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross in London for three years, and last week returned from a three-month role in Pakistan.

“Angela was full of life, a sparkling member of a close knit team who was never scared to voice an opinion and was passionate about the humanitarian work that she pursued so well.

“Her dedication to the Red Cross, first in Canada, then in London and briefly Pakistan, was inspirational.

“We are devastated by this news.”

Chief executive officer of the British Red Cross, Sir Nick Young, added: “Angela was a passionate, committed and hugely popular member of the Red Cross family, her enthusiasm and dedication rubbed off on everyone who knew her.

“Angela’s death is a huge blow to us both personally and professionally, our condolences go out to her family, friends and colleagues.

“Our lives have all been richer for having known her.”
