A RAM-RAIDER was slapped with a 20 month prison sentence after smashing into a WGC designer store.

Mark Young, of Haldens, was handed the sentence at St Albans Crown Court on August 16 after Tabrizi was targeted. The 32-year-old had previously pleaded guilty to the raid.

Young did not take anything from the shop – but stole a Land Rover Defender to break into the Wigmores North store late on July 1.

The court previously heard that roughly £30,000 worth of damage was caused to the shop.

After the raid, the store was shut while repairs were carried out.

Young was ordered to serve 20 months for the burglary, with six months to run concurrently for the theft of the Land Rover.

He was also banned from driving for three years for driving with no insurance and must pay a £100 victim surcharge.
