MORE than 2,500 women will be heading to Stanborough Lakes in WGC today (Sunday) to take part in Race for Life.
The Welwyn Hatfield leg of the annual fundraiser will see participants run, jog or walk the five-kilometre route around the park.
People not involved in the event should avoid the area, as Stanborough Road will be closed to through traffic this morning.
Race for Life is the UK’s largest women-only fundraising event series where all the money raised goes to fund Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work.
Organisers are hoping to smash the �165,243 raised at last year’s event.
