Questions to be raised about Hatfield Town Council’s role in the community

Questions will be raised at a full council meeting next week to discuss the role Hatfield Town Council plays in the community.
Councillor John Fitzpatrick raised two issues after speaking to his ward residents in South Hatfield which will be on the agenda for councillors to discuss.
His first question was: “A significant number of Hatfield residents are either unaware or critical of Hatfield Town Council.
“Can I have an acknowledgement that the Town Council takes this feedback seriously, recognises the importance of speaking out on behalf of residents on matters relating to Hatfield and will make time to debate this issue at the next full-council meeting?”
His second: “There is a great deal of frustration and annoyance amongst South Hatfield residents and businesses about the lack of progress of the proposed development of High View Shopping Centre.
“Will the Town Council please write to the Borough Council to request that a greater priority is given to the development and that current plans are confirmed publicly?”
Members of the public are welcome to attend the meeting.
It will be held at Birchwood Leisure Centre on Wednesday, February 26.
