STUDENTS donned their best outfits at an awards presentation.

Over 400 pupils and staff from Mount Grace School in Potters Bar put on their glad-rags to celebrate their successes.

The hall was transformed with balloons and flowers and Hertsmere mayor Martin Saunders turned up to toast the school's progress and future successes.

Everyone enjoyed an evening with entertainment by The Hertfordshire Show Band, Oakmere Primary School's choir, and guest performers.

All smiles: students getting their prizes

Pupils Paige McKierman, Jess Green, Josh Sawyer, George Bailey, The Latin Band, The Senior Dance Group and the cast of the school's production The Boyfriend gripped the guests with their own special performances.

Special awards were presented by chair of governors Colin Daniel, and deputy director and chief executive of education Justin Donovan.

Headteacher Peter Baker expressed how "proud" he was of the school's successes over the last year.

He was also impressed with the hard work of students, the staff's dedication and parents' support.

Mr Baker, who has been at the Church Road school for four years, thanked Barbara Brilliant, who retired from her post as chair of governors after seven years, for her support of the school.

The Boyfriend is being performed at the school on February 21 and 22.
