A PUBLIC protest has been organised over county council plans to build an incinerator next to Southfield School.
As part of their ongoing campaign against the development, Welwyn Hatfield Lib Dems will be demonstrating outside County Hall in Hertford on May 13.
The campaigners will be joined by Lib Dem MEP Andrew Duff, one of seven politicians who represent Hertfordshire in Brussels.
Mr Duff said: "I was appalled to hear of the plan to send a convoy of 42-tonne waste lorries past the front gates of a special needs school.
"I intend to attend the protest against this scheme and want to hear local peoples' concerns over the site."
The protest is scheduled to start at 2pm.
