FIRE investigators are beginning work this morning (Friday) into the cause of the blaze which tore through the former Clock Hotel in Welwyn yesterday.
The fire, which started just after 2pm, took scores of firefighters hours to put out.
Emergency services remained at the scene of the fire overnight, as traffic on the nearby A1(M) returned to normal.
