Hertfordshire Constabulary is inviting children and teenagers across the county to take part in an online quiz, to help them enjoy Halloween and fireworks safely.

The quiz has two age categories. Younger entrants, aged between five and eight, can win a family ticket for two adults and two children to visit the animals at Willows Farm.

Older entrants, aged between nine and 16, can win a family ticket to the Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden, where the Harry Potter films were made.

Hertfordshire Constabulary has introduced the quiz as part of a campaign which works alongside local councils and Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service to deter anti-social behaviour and make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time during the Halloween and fireworks period.

To enter the quiz visit www.herts.police.uk/halloween before Monday, November 7.

The police are also offering the following advice for children and parents who are planning to go trick or treating:

* Never go trick or treating alone and always take an adult with you.

* Don’t knock on the doors of strangers (look out for signs that trick or treaters are welcome, such as Halloween decorations).

* Keep your Halloween ‘tricks’ safe - damage to property or hurting someone is a crime.

* Remember road safety rules, particularly after dark.

* Wear something bright so drivers can see you.
