WITH London 2012 now in full swing, the Olympic Torch Relay passing through Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield seems a bit of a distant memory.

But, after that historic day on July 8, Welwyn Hatfield Council ran a photographic competition, calling on those in attendance to send in their snaps.

And three winners have now been chosen.

They are:

* Briony Catling, for her image of Torchbearer Alice Breheny.

* Rachel Munns, who snapped Torchbearer Talya Jacobson and mum Bev carrying the Olympic Flame past the Hatfield beacon into the University of Hertfordshire.

* Sara-Lee Morrow, for her picture of daughter Allana-Beth, nine, at Hatfield House with first Hatfield Torchbearer Steve Ells.

The winning photos will all be displayed at Mill Green Mill and Museum for a fortnight from Tuesday.

Briony, Rachel and Sara-Lee also receive a voucher for a family cream tea at Mill Green, as well as two tickets to either a film at Campus West or to RollerCity.

Other entrants will also receive a cream tea voucher for two persons at Mill Green.

A council spokeswoman said: “Thanks and congratulations to all those who entered.”
