A new Poundworld store is opening in Hatfield by the end of September.
The store is part of the company’s expansion plan to open at 60 new locations in 2016, and will create around 30 local retail jobs across all levels, ranging from sales assistant to store manager.
Poundworld will be at 26-32 Town Centre, next to Peacocks, and will sell over 5,000 products, covering categories such as grocery, cleaning, health and beauty, pet care, toys and stationery, with everything priced at £1.
The store is calling for jobseekers in Hatfield, and people looking for a change of role, to apply, as it is looking to recruit a talented local workforce ahead of the store opening.
Poundworld area manager Sasan Jahanabazy said: “We’re excited to be opening our first ever store in Hatfield and bringing amazing value to local shoppers across many of their favorite brands.
“However, before we open our doors for the first time, we’re on the hunt for a passionate, dedicated and hard-working team to join our family.
“We urge anybody who might be interested in joining us in Hatfield to call 01924 420260 (Option 6).”
Councillor Bernard Sarson, executive member for business, partnerships and public health, said: “Poundworld is an exciting addition to Hatfield town centre and we’re very pleased to welcome another national retailer following the introduction of Peacocks last year.
“It is a vote of confidence in Hatfield as our investment programme continues to gather pace and improve the environment for shoppers, residents and businesses.
“We’re continuing our discussions with other independents and multiples to broaden the choice of shops in Hatfield even further and hope to announce more new retailers in due course.”
The store, which is 3,800 square foot, will be Poundworld’s 340th outlet.
