NEARLY 600 schoolchildren donned their sport kits to take part in the annual mini marathon held at Oakmere Primary School, in Potters Bar.
The sporting event saw the school grounds, on Chace Avenue, and surrounding streets, jam-packed with 580 children as they ran the course.
Involved in the marathon, on May 1, were youngsters from Oakmere, St Giles', Brookmans Park, Little Heath, Ladbrooke, and Pope Paul schools.
Michael Thompson, 11, from Pope Paul School, in Baker Street, was victorious.
Oakmere headteacher Julie Lilly said: "I am blown away by my staff team and all the volunteers, who have helped make this a truly fantastic occasion."
All the children and staff who entered the marathon were presented with a certificate to mark their achievement.
