Police are investigating after would-be thieves smashed their way into a Mercedes in Potters Bar looking for valuables.

Herts Police say they are investigating an attempted theft from the vehicle.

Between 4pm on Wednesday, November 28 and 10.45pm on Thursday, November 29, offenders broke into a white Mercedes Sprinter van in Cranborne Road.

A side window was smashed and an untidy search of the glove compartment was carried out.

No property was taken.

•Anyone who saw what happened, or has information that could help officers, should contact Hertfordshire Constabulary on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/61059/18.
