A Potters Bar teenager whose confidence has blossomed after making it to the final of a beauty pageant is striving to win the charity award title.
Angelika Moroz, 13, of Kimptons Mead in Potters Bar, has made it through to the final of Miss Teen Continental UK which takes place on Friday, July 14.
The Dame Alice Owen’s School pupil’s mum Nataliia Moroz, 34, said: “This pageant has done so much for Angelika’s confidence.
“She was going through the typical teenage stage of feeling ugly and being down on herself but since making it to the final she has really blossomed.
“She wants to go into the fashion industry or be an actress so this pageant is really helping her get to her goals.
“I’m really proud of her and what she’s achieving whether she wins or not.”
In the semi-final, Angelika wowed the judges by performing magic tricks with a pack of playing cards and for her photographs that were taken during a professional photo shoot.
Angelika said: “So far the pageant has been a little bit hard because I have to make sure I’m looking good and that I have everything prepared for the day.
“The hardest thing was when we did the videos for the Suppa Jump promo because it really worked all your muscles.
“The scariest part of the whole experience so far was performing my magic trick in front of all the judges and a few other people.
“My hands were shaking from all my nerves. It turned out well though.
“If people were to vote for me I’d be very grateful to win the Miss Popularity title.
“However, I’d be even prouder to win the Miss Charity Kindness title because this is earned for the most money raised for Teenage Cancer Trust and this would help lots of teenagers in need.
“So please vote for me and come to the final to support the charity.”
