IF you saw a St George’s Day parade on a weekend in May, you’d be forgiven for thinking the organisers had got their dates mixed up.
The patron saint’s day is traditionally on April 23.
But the double whammy of long bank holiday weekends thanks to Easter and then the Royal Wedding saw Potters Bar & District Scouts delay their annual homage to the dragon-slayer.
The event, instead, took place last Sunday afternoon, officially two weeks “late”.
The parade set off from Baker Street and passed through Darkes Lane and Byng Drive before finishing at Parkfield, where there was a drum head service.
