Sherlock, a 10-month-old Japanese Shiba Inu from Potters Bar, won a second prize award in his class at Crufts.
Last weekend was Sherlock’s first time entering Crufts, and he came second out of five in his puppy and dog class.
His owner Margarita Froome, 56, who also has another Japanese Shiba Inu called Mimi, said: “He had a lovely day.
“It was a very long, tiring day for the humans and the dogs. We arrived at about 9.15am and left at around 5pm.
“It was very busy and hard to walk around with your dogs because there are so many people.”
“Sherlock really enjoyed all the attention. He was getting lots of photographs taken and he made a few new human friends.
“He was a good ambassador for the Shiba Inu breed. I was really pleased.”
Mimi, age four, was originally going to attend Crufts, but Margarita changed her mind.
She said: “She’s not a very good traveller in the car. She gets a bit stressed.
“I didn’t think it was fair on her.”
Crufts was held from Thursday, March 10 to Sunday, March 13 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
