Potters Bar pair seriously injured in Sussex car smash

A MAN and a woman from Potters Bar are in a serious condition in hospital after a horrific head-on car crash in East Sussex.
The smash occurred last Wednesday morning (May 18) on the A264 in Holtye between a silver Vauxhall Zafira and a black Saab, and required all seven people involved to be cut from their vehicles, with only one escaping with minor injuries.
A 71-year-old man from Potters Bar, who was travelling in the Saab, was airlifted to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, where he remains in intensive care.
A 67-year-old Potters Bar woman, who was sitting in the back of the vehicle, was taken to the Kent and Sussex County Hospital with serious injuries, where she remains.
The two other Saab passengers, from Waltham Cross, have been discharged.
The driver of the Vauxhall Zafira remains in a critical but stable condition while the two passengers remain in a serious but stable condition.
