Police are appealing for information after a Potters Bar nursery school was broken into overnight.

Police have confirmed that Oakmere Primary School in Chace Avenue was broken into in the early hours of Thursday, December 13.

Between 12.01am and 12.16am, burglars got into the school by smashing a rear door.

Several classrooms were ransacked before they made off across the field at the back of the school towards Torrington Drive.

Officers attended the scene and searched the area with their dogs.

Nobody has been traced.
