A young virtuoso from Potters Bar has earned a place in the National Children’s Orchestra and National Youth Strings Orchestra.
Multi-instrumentalist Harry Rughoo, a Year 6 pupil at Lochinver House School in Potters Bar, accomplished the impressive double feat as a violinist.
The prodigious musician is key to the school’s musical performance, as he is already first violin for the Senior Orchestra and plays viola in the Senior String Quartet.
However, his talents extend to other instruments - he is also an accomplished pianist and recently started taking harp lessons at Lochinver House.
Headmaster Ben Walker said: “Given the opportunity and bags of encouragement our young people can achieve remarkable things. Harry has worked hard for these achievements and we are delighted for him.”
When he isn’t playing a musical instrument, Harry finds time to play chess at a high level, too.
