A prisoner serving life for murdering a wealthy Potters Bar businessman in his home has failed to overturn his conviction.

Sebastian Oskar Kimel, 41, of Beechcroft, Streatham, was unable to persuade Appeal Court judges he had been wrongly convicted in 2015, when he was ordered to spend at least 25 years behind bars.

Kimel claimed he had been merely taking money and drugs from Miltiades Papadopoulos’ home in Parkfield View in October 2014 and the victim had been killed by others.

But the judges ruled the conviction was sound, and should stand.
