A talented Potters Bar teenager has been awarded a place in the world-renowned National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain 2016.

Louisa Ayerst, 13, of South Mimms, is one of 163 teenagers across Britain to be awarded a place after battling it out with around 750 of the brightest musicians in the UK.

“I’m really excited to be part of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain because it has been a dream of mine from a young age,” she said.

“I never expected to get in after auditioning for the first time.

“It is such a fantastic opportunity to play and work with other brilliant young musicians, and to tackle a challenging repertoire that I wouldn’t normally have the chance to play.”
