FIREFIGHTERS in Potters Bar raised more than �1,500 for Help for Heroes and a firefighters’ charity.
Blue Watch at Potters Bar Fire Station presented a cheque for �1,611.07 to the charity on Tuesday last week.
Hertfordshire county co-ordinator for Help for Heroes, Paul Reading, visited the fire station to accept the cheque from Roy Chin, of Blue Watch.
The firefighters raised the money by holding a car wash and prize draw.
The car wash was held on October 2 and raised �583, which was divided between The Fire Fighters Charity and Help for Heroes.
The prize draw raised �1,319.87 for Help for Heroes, with prizes donated by The Hertfordshire Golf Club, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Harvester Restaurants and Broxbourne’s Paradise Wildlife Park.
