POP along to Potters Bar Fire Station tomorrow (Saturday) to get your car washed – and help charity at the same time too.

Crews at the Mutton Lane station will be raising money as part of The Fire Fighters Charity’s National Car Wash Day.

There is no fixed charge, but people will be asked to make a donation to the charity, which provides a range of services that preserve the quality of life for serving and retired fire service personnel.

As well as a sparkling clean car, visitors will be offered fire safety advice and a free home check.

County councillor Richard Thake, executive member for environment and community safety, said: “With all donations received going directly to such a good cause, we hope people will take the time to come along to have their car washed.

“The Fire Fighters Charity provides an invaluable service to both serving and retired firefighters and their families and we are pleased to be able to support them and help raise vital funds for their work.”

The charity car wash will be open between 10.30am and 4.30pm.

All the car care products for the charity car washes have been donated by Autoglym.
