Black and white cat Savvy, Patrick, a ginger and white cat, and Russian hamsters Apple and Raisin are this week’s quartet of pets at RSPCA Southridge looking for new homes in the Welwyn Hatfield Times Potters Bar Edition’s Find Me a Home appeal.

• Savvy is a sweet, female domestic shorthair who is approximately six to 12 months old.

A spokeswoman for the RSPCA centre in Packhorse Lane, Ridge, said: “Savvy finds herself at Southridge due to her owner sadly becoming unwell.

“She enjoys a fuss and can be very lively at times.”

She added: “We are looking for a kind and understanding home for Savvy.

“She can live with children of secondary school age and above as she can be a little cheeky.”

Savvy may be able to live with another cat or friendly dog and needs access to the outdoors.

• Patrick is an eight-year old male domestic shorthair who is at Southridge as a result of the sudden death of his owner.

The Southridge spokeswoman said: “Patrick enjoys cuddles and loves a fuss.

“He is a very sweet boy, so we feel he can live with children of primary school age.”

Patrick needs access to the outdoors so he can explore and sunbathe at his leisure.

He may be able to live with another cat and a friendly dog.

“He really deserves to find a new loving home to call his own,” added the RSPCA spokeswoman.

• Cute Apple and Raisin are two baby, female Russian hamsters.

They came from a household where the hamsters were left to breed and the situation became out of control.

They are friendly girls who will require a spacious cage/tank with lots of toys to explore.

• If you are interested in adopting any of the animals featured in this week’s Welwyn Hatfield Times Potters Bar Edition Find Me a Home appeal, visit the centre in Packhorse Lane, Ridge, call 0300 123 0704 or email southridge@rspca.org.uk

The centre is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11am to 4.15pm.

It is also open on Sundays from 1pm to 4.15pm.
