A care home for people with learning disabilities in Potters Bar has received a 'good' rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Dugdale House in Santers Lane, which caters for seven people with learning disabilities or autistic spectrum conditions, received a ‘good’ rating in all categories in a report published on Tuesday, February 19.

The report said: “The support staff demonstrated a sound knowledge of people’s care needs, significant people and events in their lives, and their daily routines and preferences.

“They also understood the provider’s safeguarding procedures and could explain how they would protect people if they had any concerns.”

Staff were praised for being motivated and passionate about their roles, and inspectors found that staff enjoyed their jobs. They said: “Staff confirmed they could raise issues and make suggestions.”
