A TWENTY-YEAR-OLD man has been charged following the discovery of a cannabis factory in Potters Bar.

As reported in last week's Potters Bar Edition, police closed off Laurel Avenue for more than half a day last Tuesday, leaving residents struggling to get into their homes.

Officers were unable to access the house immediately and an electricity company was called in to make the area safe for the emergency crews.

Phuong Hong La, of no fixed address, appeared before magistrates charged with producing a Class C drug and cultivating cannabis.

He has been remanded to appear at St Albans Crown Court.
