RENTAL time is up for the Potters Bar branch of Blockbuster.

Bigwigs at the entertainment store which rents out DVDs, Blu Rays and games, decided not to renew the lease on their Darkes Lane branch, which has been a mainstay along the parade for many years.

The move follows the recent closure of another branch at nearby Hatfield.

Bryn Owen, head of marketing at Blockbuster Entertainment, said: “The store closed on August 28, it was a lease expiry.

“We have other stores nearby at Enfield and also Southgate.

“All customers of the store were mailed to inform them of the closure and to welcome them to one of our other stores we
gave every customer 10 free rentals.

“In addition to this, for customers for whom the other stores are not convenient to visit, we offered two months free use of our ‘movies by post’ service.”
