Branch closures at building company Travis Perkins will not affect branches in Potters Bar and Welham Green.

More than 30 Travis Perkins branches are being closed, out of 2,060 branches in total, resulting in the loss of 600 jobs.

The Potters Bar branch is in Barnet Road and the Welham Green branch is in Travellers Lane.

A statement from Travis Perkins said: “All of the 600 affected employees are aware of the changes and as a result the Group will incur exceptional charges in 2016 of between £40million and £50million, of which approximately two-thirds will be non-cash write offs.

“The cash cost of the restructuring is expected to be recovered by the efficiencies generated within 18 months and provide on-going benefits to the group thereafter.”
