PEOPLE throughout Times Territory are being urged to join the battle to save our post offices.

A new, online, petition has been set up by MP Grant Shapps who joined the WHT campaign last month.

The aim is to rally residents against any potential closures.

The launch of the new website follows a deluge of impassioned responses to our campaign in the past two months.

Mr Shapps is also planning a mass demonstration.

He said: "We do not just want to let this slip away and we need to make them [the Government] realise we care passionately about keeping our post offices open.

"We intend to use the site to plan a mass protest outside each post office in the area to show our support.

"As soon as we get enough names we can build up to a day of action that can really make a point.

"It's important that the Government understands that we are serious about this and that our post offices are invaluable."

Posters, information of June's planned public consultation and links to the WHT campaign can all be found on the new website.
