A DAY of action has been planned to dispute the cull that will see at least four of Times Territory's post offices close.

Protesters are urged to gather on the morning of Saturday June 7 at the Handside post office, Marsden Road in WGC, the branch at which the WHT campaign was launched.

A march will then ensue around some of the area's threatened stores in a bid to make a stand ahead of the consultation in July.

MP Grant Shapps, who has been a key figure in the campaign said: "This is a chance for the people to show the government that they need their local services.

"It is important that we make a stand ahead of the July consultation.

"We want the government to step back and think about what is important to the people in this community."

More details on the day of action will follow next week.
