A MAN was rushed to hospital after a serious assault in Hatfield yesterday evening (Wednesday).

The victim, who police say is in his 30s, suffered head and face injuries.

It is thought he was attacked by three people.

A passer-by said the area was cordoned off, and there was a “pool of blood” in the street.

Police were called by paramedics to the town centre, close to Hatfield Swim Centre in Lemsford Road, at 7.45pm.

A force spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times this morning (Thursday): “He is currently in hospital receiving treatment for his injuries, and enquiries are ongoing.”

A spokesman from the East of England Ambulance Service said the man was rushed to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage.
