Police hunt suspects in connection with four burglaries

Police activity in Welwyn today has been in connection with the reports of four burglaries in Hertfordshire, a Herts Police spokeswoman has explained.

The spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “Officers stopped a silver Ford Mondeo in Northampton this afternoon (Wednesday) following a police pursuit in connection with four burglaries that are reported to have occurred in Hertfordshire earlier today (Little Acres in Ware, Saffron Close in Hoddesdon, London Road in Hertford Heath and Mercia Road in Baldock).”

A 50-year-old man from Essex has been arrested by officers from Northamptonshire Police and remains in police custody at this time.

The spokeswoman added: “Two other men made off from the scene and enquiries are on-going to locate them.

“As part of the investigation, a grey BMW has been recovered in Mercia Road, Baldock and a blue Honda Civic has been recovered in Fulling Mill Lane, Welwyn.”
