Police are giving anyone with an unlicensed gun a chance to hand it in with no questions asked from Monday.

Hatfield Police Station is one of four across Hertfordshire where weapons can be surrendered in a firearms amnesty from November 10 to 21.

A spokesman said: “Hertfordshire remains one of the safest counties in the country and has little gun crime.

“However, this campaign is being carried out in support of the national campaign, which along with our other crime prevention campaigns will contribute to making Hertfordshire and neighbouring counties safer places in which to live.”
