Machete thugs chase boys in Potters Bar

Two young teenagers managed to call the police after being confronted by two offenders who pulled out a machete in Potters Bar.
The 14-year-old boys were in Furzefield Court, off Mutton Lane, when the incident happened.
After pulling out the machete, offenders then started chasing the boys.
The boys ran towards the Elm Court Community Youth Centre and managed to call the police.
A spokeswoman for Herts Police said: “Police are investigating an incident which occurred in Furzefield Court at 7.24pm on May 5.
“The victims, who are 14 years old, were confronted by two males and one of them pulled out what has been described as a machete. “The victims ran off.
“They were not injured.
“Officers attended and searches of the area were carried out.
“At this time no arrests have been made.”
The offenders are described as black males wearing tracksuits.
At this stage police do not have any descriptions for the suspects.
The incident has left many parents in Potters Bar shocked.
Sergeant Noel Buckley said: “This is a very unusual incident where violence was threatened with a weapon.
“We are trying to establish exactly what happened and what the man’s intention was.
“The teenagers did the right thing in reporting it and we are doing everything we can to trace them.
