POLICE are investigating after a child was allegedly approached by a woman in a supermarket.

Officers were called to Morrisons, in Black Fan Lane, on Sunday after the infant’s parent reported the approach.

Force officials have called on witnesses to come forward.

A police spokeswoman told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “Police were called at around 4pm on Sunday, May 5 to a suspicious incident which occurred in Morrisons Supermarket.

“It is alleged a woman approached a child in the store, which caused their parent concern. Officers attended and the report is being investigated.

“If anyone was in the store that afternoon and believes they may have witnessed the incident, they are asked to contact police via the non-emergency number, 101.”
