A MAN has been arrested and a police officer hospitalised, following a confrontation inside a WGC bank where an allegedly fraudulent attempt to withdraw cash was made.
Police swooped on Santander in Howardsgate at around 4.40pm today (Tuesday) following reports of a man attempting to withdraw “a large sum of cash” without the correct documentation.
In the ensuing attempt to detain the suspect, a police officer injured his knee and was taken to the QEII Hospital in WGC.
A police spokesman said the officer’s injury was “not serious”.
