A police officer from Hatfield has been charged with misconduct.

Simon Salway will appear before a court in July.

The 38-year-old has been suspended from duty.

A Herts police spokeswoman said: “A serving officer with Hertfordshire Constabulary has been charged with Misconduct in Public Office following an investigation by the force’s Professional Standards Unit.

“Simon Salway, 38, who lives in Hatfield, is due to appear at Luton Crown Court for an initial PCMH on July 13 and, given the seriousness of the allegations, remains suspended from duty pending the outcome of legal proceedings.”
