Three Welwyn Garden City men have been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in the Panshanger area of the town at the weekend.

The stabbing happened in Ley Walk, Panshanger, in the early hours of Saturday, June 16.

A police spokesman said: “A 30-year-old man, a 26-year-old man and a 46-year-old man, all from Welwyn Garden City, are currently in police custody and enquiries are continuing.”

Police launched a murder probe after the victim, a Welwyn Garden City man in his 30s, was found with stab wounds in Ley Walk at 1.39am on Saturday.

A Long Ley resident told the Welwyn Hatfield Times yesterday: “There was armed police and ambulances, police cars blocked the whole road, and forensics were there too.

“There was a really quick response and I think it went on until about 5am.

“You just don’t expect it outside your front door.”
