Police kept busy in Welwyn Garden City town centre last night

Police were kept busy in Welwyn Garden City town centre last night after a man smashed a shop door and men were caught fighting in the same road.

At 11.34pm a man punched the door of Domino’s in Fretherne Road which caused the glass to break.

Police attended and the 52-year-old man agreed to pay for the damage caused.

A police spokeswoman said: “Whilst at the scene of that incident, officers dealt with an altercation in the same road, between two men who were known to each other.

“A 51-year-old man from Welwyn Garden City received a police caution after being arrested for common assault and a public order offence.”
