Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted burglary in Potters Bar.

Police cars were seen bolting down Mutton Lane last night (Tuesday) at around 6.30pm following reports of a break-in in The Spinney.

A police spokesman said the victim came home and disturbed the crooks as they left, causing them to leave all the stolen items stacked in the garden.

No one was seen and nothing was taken, but officers are still investigating and urged anyone with information to contact them via 101, quoting crime reference J3/17/1571.
