Police are investigating after a “thunderflash” was set off in Hatfield last night.

Officers were called at 10.30pm to Northfield to reports that a paintball gun had been fired at a door around 20 minutes earlier.

A police spokeswoman said: “The member of the public, who does not live at the address, reported a passenger in a black Corsa is alleged to have fired the paintball gun at the door.

“It’s reported a thunderflash device was then set off outside the property.”

A thunderflash, often used in paintballing, releases a loud bang with a flash of light.

The spokeswoman added that officers attended but no-one was at the property. Enquiries are ongoing.
