The windows were damaged sometime overnight on Sunday into Bank Holiday Monday.

When staff turned up for work on Monday, they were unable to open up due to health and safety.

A Sue Ryder spokesman said: “We lost one day’s trade on Monday.

“It’s a shame because we’re obviously a charity.

“There’s protective film over the windows now so we have been able to re-open.

“The police are investigating because it could have been an accident or vandalism.”
